Black Law Windfarm
Black Law Windfarm became operational in 2006. It comprises 54 turbines with a maximum height to blade tip of between 100-110 metres and a total capacity of 124 megawatts. This can supply electricity equivalent to the needs of approximately 71,052 households.
Black Law Windfarm Extension Phase 1
Black Law Windfarm Extension Phase 1 has been granted planning consent by the Scottish Government. The application was for a further 23 turbines with a generating capacity of up to 69 megawatts. Construction on Black Law Windfarm Extension Phase 1 is set to commence in summer 2012 and expected to be completed in 2014.
Black Law Windfarm Extension Phase 2
This extension forms a separate application to that of the consented Black Law Windfarm Extension Phase 1. Black Law Windfarm Extension Phase 2 is situated within Dura and Muldron Forests and is immediately to the north west of the consented and operational Black Law Windfarm and to the west of the Black Law Extension Phase 1. The Development has a proposed capacity of up to 39MW of renewable power. Each turbine would have a maximum blade tip height of 126.5 metres, which is similar in size to Black Law Windfarm Extension Phase 1.
